The mission of the Department of Naval Architecture is to offer high-quality studies in modern Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering and Marine Technology, including design and construction methods of ships, floating structures and their electromechanical systems. To participate in the ERASMUS+ program as an Exchange student and attend courses in relevant scientific subjects, a valid ERASMUS+ Bilateral Inter-Institutional Agreement is required between the Sending Institution and the Department of Naval Architecture of University of West Attica.

The teaching methods for each course are referred in the course syllabus and may include face-to-face lectures, laboratory practice, homework exercises, group assignment, essay writing, presentations, individual meeting with the professor, as well as written or oral exams at the end of the semester.
Within the framework of the ERASMUS+ program, undergraduate students, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, that are registered in the Department of Naval Architecture, are given the opportunity to study in European Union countries or the rest of the world (International Mobility).

In the context of the ERASMUS+ program, undergraduate students, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, that are registered in the Department of Naval Architecture, are given the opportunity to do an internship abroad at Universities/Companies/Organizations. The subject of the Internship should be relevant to the studies offered by the Department of Naval Architecture.
All members of the faculty, or members of the teaching staff who have an employment contract with UNIWA, as well as the professors Emeriti who still have proven active role in the Institution, have the right to participate in the mobility for teaching and/or training.
Accordingly, all permanent administrative employees of UNIWA, but also contract holders of employment relationship with UNIWA, have the right to participate in the mobility for training.
