Την Τρίτη 4/6/2024 και ώρα 17.00, στην αίθουσα Κ16.110 (Πανεπιστημιούπολη 1), θα δοθεί διάλεξη με θέμα ”NAOME research overview & Maritime autonomy”, από τον κ. Γεράσιμο Θεοτοκάτο, προσκεκλημένο του Τμήματος.

 

Προσκαλούνται οι ενδιαφερόμενοι φοιτητές και μέλη ΔΕΠ, τόσο του Τμήματος όσο και άλλων Τμημάτων του ΠΑΔΑ να επωφεληθούν από τη διάλεξη του διακεκριμένου ομιλητή και να τον τιμήσουν με την παρουσία τους.

 

Short Bio: Gerasimos Theotokatos (PhD, FIMarEST) is the Professor of Marine Systems Safety and the Director of the Maritime Safety Research Centre (MSRC) and the Maritime Transport Research Unit (MTRU) at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering (NAOME) at the University of Strathclyde (UoS). He specialises in intelligent systems and digital twins’ applications in maritime engineering and technology. His research in autonomous ships systems, cyber-physical systems safety and reliability, artificial intelligence applications, optimal decision making, prognostics and health-aware systems management, data fusion and situation awareness, as well as collision avoidance provides interfaces between and maritime systems engineering and complexity science. He has a track record of international and national research collaborations, whereas he has been principal investigator (PI) and Co-investigators of several multi-disciplinary projects of various scales and complexities. He has published 90+ journal articles and 100+ conference papers. He served twice as the chair of the Institution of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) Scottish branch. He is member of the Maritime UK Technology & Innovation Group and the UK MASS people group. He is the mentor of the University of Strathclyde IMarEST student section and the Marine Robotics Society.
